Privacy policy

Last updated July 31, 2026

This site is a publication, not a platform. There are no user accounts, no logins, no profiles, and no paywall. You can read everything we publish and use the fee calculator without telling us who you are. This page covers the small amount of data the site does touch, in plain language.

What we collect, and when

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages help people—counts of visits, pages viewed, and events like a calculator run or a click out to a platform. Analytics cookies are controlled by the consent banner: in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland nothing is stored unless you allow it; everywhere else you can decline and the cookie is removed from use. We don’t run advertising, ad personalization is disabled, and we never see anything that identifies you personally in analytics data.

Forms you choose to submit. The contact form sends us your name, email, and message. The calculator’s “email me this comparison” option sends us your email and the comparison you asked for. Both are processed by Netlify Forms (our host) and used only to reply to you or send what you requested. Neither signs you up for anything; we don’t send a newsletter unless you explicitly ask for one.

Hosting logs. The site is hosted on Netlify, which like every host keeps short-lived server logs (IP address, pages requested) for security and operations. We don’t use them to identify visitors.

Affiliate clicks. Links to giving platforms pass through our own /go/ redirects. We count the click as an analytics event (which platform, from which page)—nothing personal. What happens after you land on a platform’s site is governed by their privacy policy, not ours, and if you sign up we may earn a commission as described in our affiliate disclosure.

What we don’t do

  • No selling or renting data—to anyone, ever.
  • No advertising networks, ad cookies, or cross-site tracking.
  • No accounts, so there is no account data to breach.
  • No data collection from the calculator’s inputs unless you choose to email yourself the results—the math runs in your browser.

Cookies

One category: analytics (Google Analytics). No advertising cookies, no third-party trackers. Your choice is stored in your own browser—clearing your browser data also clears it. You can change your answer any time:

Your rights

Depending on where you live (GDPR in Europe, CCPA/CPRA in California, and similar laws elsewhere), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold. In practice the only personal data we could hold about you is a form submission. Write to us and we’ll find it and delete it. We honor deletion requests regardless of where you live.

Children

The site is written for people who run nonprofits and churches. We don’t knowingly collect data from children under 13, and there’s no mechanism on the site designed to.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and material changes get a note here explaining what moved. We won’t quietly expand what we collect.
